Default Class Concept - The Animator

Right now, we have 3 classes capable of creating and using creatures other than themselves. Though they are capable fighters, there is no class yet that is entirely devoted to their pet. It's been suggested 500 times before, but I wanted to throw my idea out there as well.

ANIMATOR

Armor: 60
Max Energy: 30
Energy Regen: 3
Weapon: Wands ONLY, no offhand

ATTRIBUTES

Illumination (Primary): When you cast a spell, for three seconds, you recieve one pip of health regeneration for every 3 points in this attribute. You also gain one pip of energy regeneration for every 4 points in this attribute.

Animation: No inherent effect. Raising this attribute increases the effectiveness of Animation skills, particularly those that involve summoning creatures and offhands, and increaing their abilities.

Augmentation: No inherent effect. Raising this attribute increases the effectiveness of Augmentation skills, particularly those that involve assisting yourself and your party members through your pet.

Debiliaration: No inherent effect. Raising this attribute increases the effectiveness of Debiliration skills, particularly those involving the increased vulnerability of enemies to your pet.

BACKGROUND

The followers of this profession came forth from the destruction of Orr. Crushed by the demolition of their beloved metropolis, they sought to rebuild from the rubble. Invoking the power of long-forgotten texts from the orginal inhabitants of the world, they were able to animate from the rubble mighty golems of unrivaled strength. It was with these beings that the city's reconstruction began. Over a great many years, the "Animators," as they called themselves, strived. It eventually became evident that Orr could not be rebuilt. In rage, the Animators put their practice to a new use: battle.

PLAY STYLE

Animators are completely devoted to their pet. Nearly every thing they do is the construction of a pet or magical effects channeled through the pet. To make up for their lack of energy regeneration, the primary attribute allows a person to regenerate both health and energy through the frequent use of spells.

Golems, as their creations are called, are masses of stone and other material. All golems are created 2 levels higher than the caster. Like Necromancer summonings, armor and strength scale with level. There are also many flavors of these beings. Some are slow and dimwitted, but can leave the mightiest of warriors floored. Others are fragile and weak, but their intelligence on the battlefield allows them to cast simple spells and effects. The strongest of golems are created from more than mere rubble, and are awe-inspiring opponents. Additionally, one may sacrifice some of the power of his animation so as to control more than one at a time. Each additional golem requires an upkeep of energy and is not as powerful.

You may have noticed the this profession is limited to a wand and may not wield an offhand. This is because the Animator is actually able to steal a piece of is creation to wield! At the cost of some of his pet's power (dependant on the pet), this class gains basic offhand effects and powers not normally available from an offhand.

APPEARANCE

Animators were scholars before the Cataclysm. They appear to be of upper class, resembling nobility of ancient Greece, but retaining a look not before seen. They wear drapes and robes, with neither sex lacking in jewelry. Atop their head is a circlet, granting them the powers familiar to other professions. Their wands are paricularly long and ornamental in relation to the other classes.

SAMPLE SKILLS

none at this time...

Sorry for the missing skills, I'll probably type them up later. What do you think?

Nice and original, meaning that atleast you arent using yet ANOTHER recollection of disemboweled people to use as slaves. the worst i can say is that you haven't put any skills up yet. and also, why golems? those are usually seen as the bad guys, unless i'm mistaken.

I like the class focused on the pet, if we keep spamming enough of them I believe Anet will eventually make one.

However I do think you took golems a bit bland, golem means things animated through magic.
So they can be a single floating sword up to a really big bug made of millions of little bugs(yes I know, I just don't feel like being original now ok!) asside from the usual lumbering stone human shapes.

Biggest part about a golem is that they are created/animated not summoned, that means you will either need the material to make your golem from present, as you likely won't be carrying a big bunch of stones with you, golems summoned could be dependent on the area you are in, for instance a jade armor when you are in the jade sea.
On the other hand you could have it that certain skills are locked if the nessisairy materials are not around, try making a ice golem in the Elonian desert for instance.

Also why 2 levels higher than the caster? necro minnions are completely depended on attribute level and their level is 1.125% of the attribute level or 1.5% for the flesh golem.
I mean having a lvl 22 pet would be cool but taken into account you could summon them staight away in PvP it might be overpowered.(taken that it is one of those lumbering things that goes "I OWN U!11!1!1eleven" on a warrior's damage output)
The pet should be lower than lvl 20 so that your description of it outdoing warriors(of its own level) would be more feasible.
You should at least need to use some of those effect through pet skills, before the golem kicks plate.

Wand and offhand creation might not be the most inspiring set up, I means its already been done, just redoing it can be done more original.
For instance they use a animated object as a weapon:
Some flying weapon used at range animated trough magic, or a swarm of things wielded in 2 hands that hover around you and swoop out to attack a single target.
Both are usable at range and both are within the abilities of an Animator, they are also more original and possibly cooler looking than a wand( I know a swarm of fire balls would be) it would be easer to grasp as their wands would have to have upgrades unlike all the other wands.
Offhands are probably a good idea, just so that you can't stack the effects of a offhand from another class with the ones you can summon, because it replaces the item in the offhand slot.
Through just a piece of your golem seems a bit bland, replacing the armor appearance on the animator you could have invisible offhands witch modify body parts giving you a stone arm for the duration for instance, not really of any value I just think it would look cooler than holding a stone which supposedly came from your golem weakening it.

So for its a nice twist to the primary haven't seen a primary effect with a duration before, so you're of to a promising start keep working on it.
